  1. 1. Discuss the sample size used in the study.
The study only included 3 case studies of 3 patients with different stages of incontinence associated dermatitis IAD.

    2. Discuss the limitations of the article: limited sample size, design flaws, and/or author bias.
The sample size is very small. More patients are needed with different stages of IAD to further prove the efficacy of the product that is being marketed.

  2. Describe the method used by the author of the study.
The method used by the author was to describe three different case study, patients with IAD and MASD. All of the cases was treated and Derma protective plus barrier was used with improvement.
Discuss the sample size used in the study.
The article describes only three different study cases, three patients with MASD. It would be nice to have more studies, more cases with patients with different stages of moisture associated skin damage.

Describe the method used by the author of the study
A couple methods utilized was from a national audit encompassing 66 hospitals with a total of 8365 to support statistics in compromised skin integrity. The other method for ths study to support this product consists of 3 case studies

Discuss the limitations of the article: limited sample size, design flaws, and/or author bias
For the relevance of this product treating wounds, this study only consisted of 3 case studies which is a very limited study. It is not known if these subjects were picked randomly. This could be a bias

  5. Discuss the sample size used in the study.
Clearly the sample size is small. A more definitive study would need more cases, stages of injury and standard product use.

The sample size doen for the study was small cases. 3 cases are presented on the study with different clinical condition, different stages of moisture- related injury. Each sample has different medical condition, sex, mental status, activity level.

Discuss the limitations of the article: limited sample size, design flaws, and/or author bias
The article had special poduct centered case studies, which is Derma protective plus barrier. The case study did not compared to any other similar product or different type of products. The article has limited sample to present the benefit of of products or methods with 3 cases studies. This might bring biase opinion regardign the result.

  7. 1) Discuss the method used by the author in this study 2) Discuss the sample size used in this study
The authors utilized 3 case studies in support of using barrier skin protectants and moisturizers on moisture associated skin damage (MASD). The sample size in this study is 3 as there are 3 sample cases provided utilizing the products recommended, by the authors, as part of an effective MASD bundle.
Was the correct method used? Why or why not?
A correct method was used in that, through the case studies, the authors were able to demonstrate the use and efficacy of barrier products at various stages of MASD caused by incontinence. The authors clearly explained the indication and use for these products which offers a compelling real world example to healthcare providers. On the other hand, as an endorsement for a product, a sample size of three is nearly meaningless. A intervention study done using two different products and a third group with no product across three similar populations would be a more ideal way of making a compelling argument for these products
