  1. Discuss the sample size used in the study.

The size of this exploratory study was 81 people with a questionnaire in a cross-sectional cohort to evaluate inter-sections between low back pain and faecal incontinence. The sample is a small and cannot be compared to metropolitan and urban populations from Australia and the USA.
Discuss the limitations of the article: limited sample size, design flaws, and/or author bias

The limitations in this article are the size of the sample is small only 81. Thus bigger samples and a randomized controlled trial sample could eliminate bias and it is the most reliable as future research needs to performed and the objective of this article.
Bias was performed through a simple check for selective bias among participants’ age and sex using a difference between the sex ratio in the sample compared to the population source. The method Chi-square is a reliable research method to eliminate bias. The Z test showed significant difference between sample participants and average age in the patient populations.
The cross-sectional method and the questionnaire format inevitably portraits risk of bias. Fecal incontinence is an “embarrassing” factor that many people, especially younger participants and they are probably are hesitant to discuss.
